Always a very relaxed show, with some special fancy dress and a little something different from the standard VW scene. The accommodate Americal hotrods as well as the standard VW awards, and also have a coachbuilts section!!
For the past few years Kev (Karmann forum - owns number 30 to our 29!) organised the Karmann contingent. However, he hasn't been well of late and asked Marv to do the honours instead. Unfortunately there is the Karmann Treffen the weekend prior to Deva and this year there was an event scheduled to take place in Germany at the old factory (which actually failed to come off) so many Karmann owners were booked elsewhere for Deva weekend.
Undeterred There was still a reasonable attendance by the Karmann contingent, it doesn't hurt that Deva Matt offers the coachbuilt driver a free entry ticket in exchange for showing their vehicle on the Sunday!
We rolled in just before the gates opened around 11am and got ourselves pitched up - new awning tie down kit was put to good use - even though there wasn't a breath of wind!!
Not many pics this weekend - Lots of drunken foolery on the Friday night meant the Saturday morning was quite subdued!!
A brief sojourn into Shrewsbury town centre on the Saturday afternoon for more cider meant that it was tea time by the time we got back! Another slightly-less drunk Saturday night and then it was show day!!
And rainy day :(
Breakfast on the showground & a few showground shots for you - see the rain on the windows?!
